Voices from the Heart

2026 Edition: A Page That Touched Me

Participation, Recording and Publication Consent

Effective Date: July 16, 2026

These Participation, Recording and Publication Consent Terms apply to the 2026 edition of Voices from the Heart: A Page That Touched Me, organized by 365 Mosaic Foundation through its 365 for Kids program.

Please read this document carefully before submitting a child’s audio recording.

By completing the official submission and parental-consent process, the submitting parent or legal guardian confirms that they:

  • are at least 18 years old;
  • have read and understood these Terms;
  • have authority to submit the child’s recording;
  • have provided the permissions described in this document;
  • understand that an accepted recording will be made publicly available on 365forKids.com.

1. About Voices from the Heart

Voices from the Heart is an annual educational audio initiative celebrating children’s voices, literature, thoughtful reading, and personal reflection.

The 2026 edition is titled:

A Page That Touched Me

Children and teens are invited to:

  1. select a book from the official curated reading list;
  2. choose a short excerpt;
  3. read the excerpt aloud;
  4. identify a virtue or meaningful idea within the passage;
  5. share a brief personal reflection explaining why the passage matters to them.

Accepted recordings will become part of a free online audio collection available through 365forKids.com.

The purpose of the project is to encourage:

  • reading and literacy;
  • meaningful engagement with literature;
  • public-speaking confidence;
  • thoughtful reflection;
  • age-appropriate self-expression;
  • understanding of virtues and human values;
  • connection between children and books.

2. Organizer

The initiative is organized by:

365 Mosaic Foundation — 365 for Kids
636 Remington Rd, Suite C
Schaumburg, IL 60173
United States

Email: info@365forkids.com
Phone: (224) 201-3767

In this document, “365 for Kids,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to 365 Mosaic Foundation in connection with the administration of this initiative.

3. Who May Participate

The 2026 edition is open to children and teens ages 6–17 residing in the United States.

The age groups are:

  • Ages 6–9
  • Ages 10–13
  • Ages 14–17

The participant must be within the eligible age range on the date the complete submission is received.

Recordings must be in English.

Participation is free and does not require:

  • a paid 365 for Kids Library Membership;
  • the purchase of a book or other product;
  • payment of an entry fee.

4. Submission Deadline and Participation Capacity

The planned submission deadline is:

November 1, 2026, or earlier if the 500-submission capacity is reached

The first 500 complete submissions that meet all eligibility, participation, recording, content, consent, copyright, privacy, safety, and technical requirements will be accepted, in the order in which they are received.

A submission is considered complete only when 365 for Kids has received the required submission information, audio recording, parent or legal guardian consent, and any additional information reasonably required to confirm eligibility or authorization.

Starting or partially completing a submission does not reserve a place. If corrections, replacement files, or missing information are requested, the submission will be considered complete only after all requested materials have been received and all requirements have been met.

Submissions may close before November 1, 2026, if the participation capacity is reached.

365 for Kids may reasonably extend or modify the deadline because of technical, administrative, safety, legal, or other circumstances. Any important change will be announced on the official Voices from the Heart webpage.

5. This Is Not a Contest

Voices from the Heart is not a competition.

There are:

  • no rankings;
  • no judges;
  • no first-, second-, or third-place awards;
  • no comparison of children’s reading ability;
  • no requirement for professional performance.

The first 500 complete submissions that meet all published requirements will be accepted, in the order in which they are received. Every accepted recording will be included in the Voices from the Heart online audio collection, unless it is later withdrawn or removed under these Terms or publication is prevented by a legal, privacy, safety, copyright, consent, or technical issue.

6. Parent or Legal Guardian Submission

Every recording must be submitted by the child’s parent or legal guardian.

The submitting adult must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • provide their own name and contact information;
  • review the recording before submission;
  • confirm that the recording follows the project requirements;
  • authorize the collection and public publication of the child’s voice;
  • complete any parental-verification steps required by 365 for Kids.

A child must not independently:

  • complete the submission form;
  • provide a personal email address;
  • upload the recording;
  • provide legal consent for publication.

7. Schools, Libraries, and Organizations

Schools, libraries, reading programs, community organizations, and other educational partners may:

  • share information about the initiative;
  • provide children with access to the reading list;
  • host a reading and reflection activity;
  • help families understand the recording instructions;
  • provide a quiet space or technical assistance.

However, an educator, librarian, employee, volunteer, or organizational representative may not replace the required parent or legal guardian consent merely because they helped conduct the activity.

An organization may submit or authorize a recording only if it has documented legal authority to act for the child and the submission process has been approved in advance by 365 for Kids.

8. Parental Consent and Verification

Because the submitted recording contains a child’s voice and will be published online, 365 for Kids requires parental or legal guardian permission.

For participants under age 13, publication will not occur until the required verifiable parental-consent process has been completed.

The process may include:

  • a parent-signed consent form returned electronically;
  • confirmation through another legally appropriate verification method;
  • additional communication reasonably necessary to confirm authority.

365 for Kids may request additional verification when:

  • the identity or authority of the submitting adult is unclear;
  • the recording was prepared through an organization;
  • information in the submission is incomplete or inconsistent;
  • a privacy or child-safety concern arises.

A recording will not be published if the required consent cannot be confirmed.

9. Recording Length and Format

The complete recording should be approximately:

3–5 minutes

Accepted audio-file formats may include:

  • MP3;
  • M4A;
  • WAV.

The recording does not need to be professionally produced.

A phone or similar recording device may be used, provided that:

  • the child’s voice is understandable;
  • background noise is limited;
  • there is no background music;
  • no unrelated conversation is audible;
  • the file can be opened and reviewed.

10. Required Recording Structure

The recording should include three parts.

Part 1: Short Introduction

The child may introduce the recording using the approved public display name.

Example:

“My name is Emma. I am 9 years old. I chose Kindness and an excerpt from The Secret Garden.”

The child must not say their full last name, school name, home address, city, or other private information.

Part 2: Reading

The child reads a short excerpt from one of the books included in the official curated reading list.

Part 3: Reflection

The child explains, in their own words:

  • why the passage touched them;
  • what it made them think or feel;
  • what virtue or meaningful idea they discovered;
  • why they would like others to hear it.

11. Curated Reading List

All excerpts must come from books included in the official 2026 curated reading list published on the Voices from the Heart webpage.

For this edition, 365 for Kids has selected classic works available in the public domain in the United States.

Participants must not submit readings from books that are not on the approved list.

The selected excerpt should come from the public-domain text linked or identified through the initiative.

Participants should not read from:

  • a modern adaptation;
  • a copyrighted translation;
  • a contemporary retelling;
  • a modern introduction or commentary;
  • an audiobook script;
  • another edition containing newly copyrighted material,

unless 365 for Kids has specifically confirmed that it may be used.

12. Length of the Literary Excerpt

The excerpt should be short enough to allow the complete recording—including the introduction and reflection—to remain approximately 3–5 minutes long.

365 for Kids may request:

  • a shorter excerpt;
  • a different excerpt;
  • a replacement recording,

if the submitted reading is too long or does not meet the project requirements.

13. The Child’s Reflection

The reflection should express the child’s own ideas in age-appropriate language.

A parent or educator may help the child by:

  • discussing the passage;
  • asking open-ended questions;
  • helping the child organize ideas;
  • explaining unfamiliar words;
  • encouraging the child during recording.

The adult should not write or perform the reflection in place of the child.

The child’s reflection must not be generated primarily by artificial intelligence or copied from an online summary, book review, teacher guide, or another person.

Natural adult assistance is permitted, especially for younger participants, but the central thoughts and spoken response should be the child’s own.

14. One Recording per Participant

Each child or teen may submit only one recording for the 2026 edition.

This limit applies regardless of whether submissions are made using different email addresses, names, organizations, or submission methods.

If multiple recordings are received for the same participant, 365 for Kids may retain one complete eligible submission and decline or remove the additional submissions.

15. Privacy Within the Recording

For the child’s safety, the recording must not include:

  • full last name;
  • home address;
  • exact location;
  • school name;
  • teacher’s full name;
  • telephone number;
  • email address;
  • social-media username;
  • birth date;
  • private account information;
  • names of unrelated children;
  • medical or mental-health information;
  • foster-care, residential-care, or child-welfare status;
  • court, immigration, or family legal information;
  • other unnecessary identifying or sensitive information.

The child’s reflection may be entirely literary or imaginative.

The child should not feel pressured to reveal:

  • a traumatic event;
  • family conflict;
  • grief or illness;
  • private experiences;
  • personal information that the child does not wish to share publicly.

16. Information Collected with the Submission

The submission process may collect:

  • child’s approved public display name;
  • child’s age;
  • selected book title;
  • author’s name;
  • selected virtue or meaningful idea;
  • exact excerpt or location of the excerpt;
  • audio file;
  • parent or guardian name;
  • parent or guardian email address;
  • parent or guardian relationship to the child;
  • parental-consent information;
  • information required to confirm consent;
  • limited technical information related to the upload.

Only the minimum information reasonably needed to administer and publish the project should be submitted.

17. Public Display Name

The parent or legal guardian will choose the child’s approved public display name.

Possible formats include:

  • first name and last-name initial, such as Emma M.;
  • first name only;
  • initials;
  • an approved creative name.

The child should use the same approved name in the spoken introduction.

The child’s complete legal name will not be published unless separate, express permission is requested and provided.

18. Public Title of the Recording

The public title may follow a format such as:

Emma M., age 9 — Kindness — The Secret Garden

Depending on the parent’s selected privacy preference, the title may instead use:

  • first name only;
  • initials;
  • a creative name;
  • age group rather than exact age.

No home address, school name, parent contact information, or other private information will be included in the public title.

19. Review and Acceptance

Each submission will be reviewed before acceptance and publication.

The review may consider:

  • participant age;
  • United States residency;
  • English-language requirement;
  • recording length and format;
  • use of a book from the official curated reading list;
  • inclusion of both the reading and the child’s reflection;
  • originality of the child’s reflection;
  • audio clarity;
  • required parent or legal guardian permission;
  • privacy and child-safety requirements;
  • copyright requirements;
  • appropriateness for a family and educational audience;
  • completeness of all required submission information.

The first 500 complete submissions that meet all eligibility, participation, recording, content, consent, copyright, privacy, safety, and technical requirements will be accepted, in the order in which they are received.

Submitting or beginning an application does not reserve a place or guarantee acceptance. An incomplete submission does not count toward the first 500 accepted submissions.

365 for Kids may decline, remove, or request correction of a recording that:

  • does not follow the published requirements;
  • was received after the 500-submission capacity was reached;
  • uses an unapproved book or text;
  • contains private identifying information;
  • contains copyrighted music or other unauthorized material;
  • is not reasonably understandable;
  • contains inappropriate, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, or offensive content;
  • appears to have been submitted without proper authority;
  • presents a privacy, copyright, safety, consent, or legal concern;
  • contains incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information.

When practical, we may contact the parent or legal guardian and offer an opportunity to provide missing information or a corrected recording. Requesting or allowing a correction does not guarantee that capacity will remain available while the correction is pending.

Every accepted recording will be published in the Voices from the Heart free online audio collection, unless it is later withdrawn or removed under these Terms or publication is prevented by a legal, privacy, safety, copyright, consent, or technical issue.

20. Where Accepted Recordings Will Be Published

Accepted recordings will be published in the:

Voices from the Heart free online audio collection on 365forKids.com

The collection will be accessible through the 365 for Kids website.

Recordings will not be published as part of the Voices from the Heart collection on:

  • Amazon;
  • third-party podcast platforms;
  • public social-media accounts;
  • unrelated websites.

Recordings will not automatically become part of the paid 365 for Kids Library Membership.

Any future publication of a recording outside 365forKids.com would require additional notice and any additional permission required by law.

21. Free Public Access

The Voices from the Heart audio collection will be available without a participation fee.

A listener will not be required to:

  • purchase a Library Membership;
  • purchase a book;
  • pay the child or family;
  • pay 365 for Kids specifically to hear the accepted recordings.

365 for Kids may require ordinary website functionality, such as accepting necessary cookies or using a compatible web browser.

22. Ownership of the Recording

The child and any lawful rights holder retain whatever copyright or other ownership rights they may have in:

  • the child’s original spoken reflection;
  • the child’s vocal performance;
  • the submitted sound recording.

Submission does not transfer ownership of the child’s voice or recording to 365 for Kids.

23. Permission Granted to 365 for Kids

  • receive and review the recording;
  • store the original and working copies;

This license is limited to the project-related uses described in these Terms.

It does not transfer ownership of the recording to 365 for Kids.

24. No Sale or Commercial Licensing of the Child’s Recording

365 for Kids will not sell an individual child’s recording as a standalone audio product.

365 for Kids will not license the child’s voice or recording for:

  • commercial advertising;
  • unrelated entertainment products;
  • third-party voice libraries;
  • paid audiobooks;
  • voice-replica services;
  • unrelated commercial campaigns,

without separate written permission from the parent or lawful rights holder.

Participation does not create a right to royalties, license fees, wages, or other compensation.

25. No AI Voice Training or Voice Cloning

365 for Kids will not knowingly use a child’s submitted recording to:

  • train a voice-recognition model;
  • train a generative artificial-intelligence model;
  • create a synthetic or cloned version of the child’s voice;
  • create speech in words the child did not record;
  • sell or provide the child’s voice for AI development.

Technical services used only to store, convert, secure, or play the audio may process the file as necessary to provide those services.

26. Technical Editing

365 for Kids may make limited technical edits, including:

  • trimming silence at the beginning or end;
  • removing accidental background noise when reasonably possible;
  • adjusting volume;
  • converting the file format;
  • dividing or combining project segments;
  • adding a standard spoken or visual project introduction;
  • correcting the written public title;
  • preparing a transcript for accessibility.

We will not intentionally alter the meaning of the child’s reflection or create statements that the child did not make.

If a recording requires substantial editing, we may ask for a new recording instead.

27. Certificates

Every participant whose recording is accepted will receive a digital Certificate of Participation.

The certificate will be sent to the parent or legal guardian email address provided in the submission.

The submitting adult is responsible for confirming the correct spelling of the approved participant name.

Certificates have no cash value.

365 for Kids does not reimburse expenses related to participation, including:

  • books;
  • recording devices;
  • internet service;
  • printing;
  • transportation;

Use the subject line:

Voices from the Heart — Recording Withdrawal Request

Include:

  • child’s approved public display name;
  • selected book;
  • parent or guardian name;
  • email address used in the original submission.

We will make reasonable efforts to stop publication when the request is received before the recording is finalized or scheduled.

30. Removal After Publication

A parent or legal guardian may request removal of a published recording from 365forKids.com.

The request should normally be sent from the same email address used in the original submission. If that email address is no longer available, we may request reasonable information to verify the requester’s identity and authority.

After verification, we will make reasonable efforts to:

  • remove the recording from public pages controlled directly by 365 for Kids;
  • stop future streaming through the project collection;
  • remove the public title and associated participant information;
  • stop new project-related use of the recording.

However:

  • copies made by listeners or unauthorized third parties may remain;
  • browser, server, or search-engine caches may not disappear immediately;
  • technical backups may retain the recording temporarily;
  • limited administrative records may be retained to document consent, publication, and removal;
  • uses lawfully completed before removal cannot always be reversed.

Because the collection is publicly accessible, 365 for Kids cannot guarantee that no third party will copy or record publicly streamed audio.

31. Parental Review and Ongoing Rights

A parent or legal guardian may contact 365 for Kids to:

  • ask whether we hold a recording or information concerning their child;
  • request access to the submitted information;
  • correct inaccurate public information;
  • withdraw consent for future use;
  • request removal of the online recording;
  • request deletion of information when legally and technically possible.

We may require reasonable verification before providing access to or deleting information.

32. Storage and Service Providers

Recordings and submission information may be stored or processed through services used for:

  • form submission;
  • cloud storage;
  • website hosting;
  • audio conversion;
  • website security;
  • email communication;
  • backup and administration.

Such providers may include Google, the website hosting provider, WordPress-related services, and other necessary technical providers.

These services are not authorized by 365 for Kids to use the recording for unrelated advertising, voice cloning, or independent commercial purposes.

Information will be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for:

  • review;
  • publication;
  • project administration;
  • parent requests;
  • project archiving;
  • legal and security purposes.

Participation must be voluntary.

Parents and guardians should ensure that:

  • the child wants to participate;
  • the child understands that the recording will be public;
  • the selected excerpt is age-appropriate;
  • the reflection does not disclose private information;
  • the activity does not cause undue stress;
  • the child is not pressured to perform perfectly.

The purpose of the project is thoughtful participation, not comparison or judgment.

A recording may be informal and natural as long as it is understandable and follows the guidelines.

34. No Guarantee of Permanent Hosting

Accepted recordings may remain online for an extended period, but permanent hosting is not guaranteed.

365 for Kids may:

  • reorganize the collection;
  • change the website structure;
  • migrate recordings to another page within 365forKids.com;
  • archive an earlier edition;
  • remove content because of technical, legal, privacy, or administrative needs.

Moving a recording to another page within 365forKids.com does not constitute publication on a third-party platform.

35. Changes, Postponement, or Cancellation

365 for Kids may reasonably change, postpone, suspend, or cancel part of the initiative because of:

  • technical failure;
  • insufficient eligible participation;
  • copyright concerns;
  • privacy or security concerns;
  • legal requirements;
  • illness or emergency;
  • circumstances beyond reasonable control;
  • another substantial administrative need.

Important changes will be announced on the official project webpage or communicated to submitting parents when reasonably possible.

Closing submissions before the published deadline because the 500-submission capacity has been reached does not constitute a cancellation or postponement of the initiative.

36. Privacy Policy and General Terms

Personal information collected for the project is handled according to the 365 for Kids Privacy Policy.

Use of the website is also governed by the 365 for Kids Terms and Conditions.

These initiative-specific Terms apply in addition to those general documents.

If a direct conflict exists concerning this project, the more specific Voices from the Heart provisions will apply to the extent permitted by law.
